These pods are made from compostable bioplastic, which is often made from plant material. They produced a complex coffee with notes of berries, toast and tobacco. Testers enjoyed the thick crema and bright flavour.

If aluminium foil is accepted in your recycling collection, simply empty out the coffee grounds from the 100% aluminium pods after use and rinse. Testers found this Fairtrade coffee rich, smooth and full-bodied, with an aromatic, chocolatey taste and a frothy crema.
HOW WE TESTED Our panel of 10 testers brewed coffee using 15 different Nespresso-compatible compostable and recyclable pods, including supermarket own-brands and pods from speciality coffee roasters. We assessed each on taste and the quality of its crema.
