THE LAST BOOK THAT MADE ME LAUGH

A book that makes me laugh every time is The Best Cat Memes Ever by Charlie Ellis. The captions are hilarious and match the cat pictures so well.

THE LAST BOOK THAT MADE ME CRY

Remarkable People, my friend and colleague Dan Walker talks about people he has met during his career that have made a difference to others. It’s humbling to read about the unselfish acts some humans make to ensure others’ lives are better.

THE LAST BOOK THAT AFFECTED ME MOST

The Tattooist Of Auschwitz by Heather Morris has a romantic thread running through it that I found moving, but the trauma and pain throughout are tangible. The book tells the story of Lale Sokolov, a Slovakian Jew who was a prisoner in Auschwitz. His ‘job’ was to tattoo serial numbers on prisoners when they arrived at the camp. This is how he met his love, Gita Furman, and the book is based on their true story.

THE BOOK THAT CHANGED THE WAY I THINK

Slimming World Food Optimising. As for so many of us, lockdown has added a few pounds to my body that I want to get rid of. I like that it’s not a diet but a way of life, and that no food is off the menu, including

chocolate!

THE BOOK I MOST OFTEN GIVE TO OTHERS

I often pass on holiday reads to friends and they do the same for me; authors such as Marian Keyes and Fern Britton. If I had to choose just one to give (and I’d want it back!), it would be The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman. I can’t wait to watch the movie of this.
