‘I have a massive blow-up Santa that fills the whole garden!’

ALISON HAMMOND For This Morning presenter Alison Hammond, it’s the season to go all-out with the decorations.

Christmas at home or away?

At home in Birmingham – and always with the family.

Who’s invited? My son, Aidan, my brother, my sister, my niece, who’s just got married, and her husband. My mum is always there, too: I put a picture of her on the table next to me, as she passed away last year. Party dress or pyjamas? Pyjamas, but if I’m honest, I like nighties more. So for me, it’s a Mickey Mouse nightie and dressing gown. Decorations: minimalist or over

the top? So OTT! The house looks terrible! I do outside, too, with a massive blow-up Santa that fills the whole garden. I always get a real tree, too – never a fake one.

Who’s cooking? Me. Last time I did the cooking, it was amazing: best turkey ever. It went in at 5am, slow cooked, and was ready at 1pm. You have to have it with everything: stuffing, gravy, parsnips, mashed potatoes, roast potatoes, croquettes, pigs in blankets, cranberry sauce… and don’t forget the Yorkshire pudding. Or the carrots. Or the peas. What’s top of your Christmas playlist? Mariah Carey, every time, and a bit of Bublé. What’s on your festive TV planner?

I’ll probably watch myself on the

I Can See Your Voice Christmas special. I also love all the Christmas movies, like Miracle On 34th Street.

Best-ever gift? A ring my mum bought me last year. It was the last present she gave me before she died, so I wear it all the time. It was only about £60, but honestly, it’s beautiful. It looks like a diamond ring and glitters in the light. What’s on your wish list this year?

For us all to be happy and healthy.  You’ve Got To Laugh (Transworld) by Alison Hammond is out now
