PALACE TO PALACE

Ride from Buckingham Palace to Windsor Castle for The Prince’s Trust

-

We know bike riding can improve your wellbeing, but what if you could help change another life, too? That’s the aim of the Palace to Palace sponsored bike ride organised by The Prince’s Trust as a fundraiser to help keep young people on track for a better future. Now in its 15th year, it’s a memorable route that starts at Buckingham Palace and ends on the famous Long Walk at Windsor Castle. Linking two of the most famous royal residences, it feels even more of an occasion during The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee year!

This year’s event is on 25 September and is sponsored by The Watches of Switzerland Group. It’s open to anyone aged 16 or over. Riders can sign up for either the Classic (45 miles) or Ultra (90 miles) routes.

Good Housekeeping is delighted to be backing the

Palace to Palace, as riders can choose to raise money for Women Supporting Women, which we have chosen as a charity partner during our 100th year. Set up as part of The Prince’s Trust by entrepreneur Chrissie Rucker

It’s a great day out and lots of fun, while raising crucial funds

of The White Company, WSW’S aim is to raise £10m over five years to pay for more young women to have access to free courses provided by the Trust.

Chrissie tells Good Housekeeping: ‘It’s more important than ever that vulnerable young people in the UK are supported to overcome the huge challenges they face. The Palace to Palace bike ride is a great day out and lots of fun, while raising crucial funds for disadvantaged young people so that they can move into work, training and education.

‘It is always wonderful to have the support of The White Company staff, who absolutely love entering as a team. It’s really good for team bonding and such a fantastic day.’

If you’re enthusiastic about cycling, confident to ride on open roads and love to raise money for a good cause, why not have a go? Although it’s not a race, all participants will be timed, and their time will be texted to them at the finish line.

There are other ways to get involved – if you can’t make it to London, you can also complete your own virtual 45- or 90-mile route over the month of September.
