STREET STYLE UP FOR SALE

-

THERE’S AN ART to being an It girl. Nabbing next season’s must-have dress first is all well and good, but it takes a well-trained eye to turn that dress into an outfit that will get papped all over fashion week and make the best-dressed lists.

But what’s the next step for a streetstyle sensation? For ultimate It girl Alexa, it’s turning her hand to designing the clothes she’ll be making headlines in. And while we’ll have to wait until 2017 to buy a Chung original, Alexa’s fellow Frow-goers have stolen a march on her, launching their own labels while she’s still at the drawing board.

First up is fellow Brit Harley VieraNewton, who’s added another slash to her model/dj mantle: /designer of HVN. Her first collection of vintage-inspired dresses – think cherry, heart and feather- printed silk tea dresses and waisted shifts – has just arrived at Matches.

In the French corner is Parisian blogger/model/designer Jeanne Damas and her label Rouje – your new go-to for simple shapes in luxury fabrics; we’ll be beelining for the red suede jacket and denim miniskirt. And the Italian contingent? Meet Gilda Ambrosio and Giorgia Tordini, who’ve paired up to create Attico. Their embroidered and embellished robes, going on sale this month, were made to be worn, well, however and wherever you want – try them over anything from jeans to slip dresses, as demonstrated by the design duo, right. And that’s the best bit: whichever label you buy into, you’ll never be short of styling inspiration – the It girls will see to that.
