But fast-forward to the present day and it’s quite a different picture. Last week, Miley was spotted at Nobu in Malibu with on/off fiancé Liam Hemsworth, where she was observed sticking to soft drinks. It was the same story later in the night, when the pair headed to a nearby private members’ club.
It’s the latest confirmation that the singer has all but put her wild lifestyle behind her. The reason? She’s apparently vowed to calm herself down to make things work with Liam, who she split with at the end of 2013 before they got back together over New Year. According to a source close to Miley, ‘She’s really toned down her wilder antics and is even talking about starting a family with Liam. She adores being around him.’ But it seems not everyone is pleased.
Grazia understands Miley’s behaviour has changed so dramatically that friends fear she is ‘turning into something she is not’ to prove herself to Liam.
‘She still expresses herself in her very unique way, but she’s started to cut a few people out of her life,’ said the insider. ‘She’s stopped talking to some of her more party-going friends and she says no to a lot of requests to visit clubs and hang out with music producers these days.
‘Her and Liam spend most of their time at his home in Malibu and have been hanging out there for the past month. When they do go out it’s usually early in the day and, as the night goes on, friends have noticed that Liam will keep watch and make sure she’s not drinking a lot. On their last few nights out, Miley hasn’t been drinking at all. Her pals hardly recognise her anymore, and they just hope that she isn’t being blinkered by Liam.’
