Martin Solveig mixes in
IBIZA
French DJ, singer, songwriter and record producer Martin hosts a weekly residency at Pacha in Ibiza – so he’s the man to talk us through the island’s best spots…
WHERE DO WE GO TO PARTY? Ah, so many places! My House is the night I host at Pacha ( pacha.com) every Wednesday. It’s just fun. It’s house music with an open mind and covers a wide range of styles from deep to tech, classic and future… You can sing along to a Jess Glynne anthem, bounce to a Valentino Kahn banger, hear an old Lil’ Louis classic, or a tune by Kaytranada. It’s got a really eclectic and explosive crowd too. If you want to fully immerse yourself in the Ibiza experience, you need to go to a couple of underground parties. Carola at Amnesia ( amnesia.es/inicio/en) on Fridays, or Solomun at Pacha on Sundays are serious parties! Beach House ( beachouseibiza.com) is the closest you’ll find to the old-school Ibiza beach parties. Finally, don’t forget to swing by Mambo ( cafemamboibiza.com) around 9pm; it’s free and super-intimate.
WE NEED TO CHILL – WHERE TO NOW? To relax, I head north. The stretch that goes from Punta Galera to Santa Agnès has the most incredible sunsets. It also manages to stay quiet, even in August. Or rent a little boat and go to Es Cubells. Have lunch at Ses Boques ( sesboques.com) or Tagomago ( tagomago hotel.com) on the other side of the island.
YOUR FAVOURITE PLACES TO EAT? El Chiringuito Es Cavallet ( elchiringuitoibiza.com) is a classic. Cicale ( cicaleibiza.com) is a cool new Italian I’m eating at a lot when I’m on the island, along with Macao in Santa Gertrudis ( macaocafe.com).
WHERE DO YOU STAY? My favourite is Cas Gasi, near Santa Gertrudis ( casgasi.com; from € 495/£ 415 per night) – a converted 19th-century farmhouse with boho-chic vibes! Otherwise, I love Atzaro ( atzaro.com; from € 410/£ 344 per night) and Les Terrasses (lesterrasses.net; from € 170/£142 per night ), both in Santa Eulàlia.
