Cara’s Hollywood siren style-over

- BY GRAZIA’S CHARLIE

WE’RE MOST USED TO

seeing Cara in the off-duty model uniform of skinny jeans, biker jacket, beanie and trainers – which makes her latest string of redcarpet appearances all the more striking. She’s enlisted the help of styling duo Randm (that’s Rob Zangardi and the aforementioned Mariel Haenn), who are also behind J-LO and Gwen Stefani’s looks. The pair dressed Cara for her Paper Towns press tour, but you wouldn’t know it – the two wardrobes are poles apart. It may only have been last year, but 23-year-old Cara looked more like a teenager in gingham co-ords and minidresses. This time around, lashings of black and Christian Louboutin over-the-knee boots (worn with everything) make for a more grown-up spin. Randm have upped the raunch factor, too, with lots of sheer black lace – a pair of big knickers and an Alexander Mcqueen biker preserve her modesty in a sheer minidress, and Alexandre Vauthier’s sash-waisted jumpsuit cuts a striking silhouette. There are still nods to Cara’s youth, like Versace’s cropped knit and Emanuel Ungaro’s black floral hot pants, but that slash-front Anthony Vaccarello dress, worn with siren waved hair, makes a stark contrast to the Cara of old. She certainly looks the part – this is leading lady territory – so she’s well poised for the roles to match.
