WHAT TO DO IF

you’re being sexually harassed at work

-

1. Tell someone: your manager or, if it’s your manager who’s harassing you, tell a more senior staff member. 2. Keep a record of what’s happening, including copies of any texts, emails, social media posts and any witnesses.

3. Seek advice. Your local Citizens Advice can help (citizensadvice.org. uk) and, if you’re in a union, contact your representative. If you’re not in a union, consider joining – start at tuc.org.uk/ join-union.

4. Raise a grievance: if you aren’t satisfied with the action your employer takes, you may want to escalate the complaint. Ring the Acas Helpline on 0300 123 1100 for guidance. 5. Consider an employment

tribunal: there are fees for this but you may be able to reduce these or get other financial help. There are also strict time limits – you’ve usually only got just under three months from the last time you were harassed to bring a case.
