KIM & BEYONCE ‘IT’S ALL OUT WAR’
THEY’RE SAID TO HAVE endured a frosty relationship for years, despite their husbands’ 15-year friendship. Now an ‘all out war’ has apparently erupted between Kim Kardashian and Beyoncé after the singer failed to contact the reality TV star following the £8 million jewellery robbery last month.
Grazia understands the reality TV star has been left hurt by Beyoncé’s silence in the wake of the violent attack, which saw five armed men break into Kim’s hotel in Paris before tying her up, gagging her and stealing her engagement ring, along with a box of jewellery worth £5 million.
‘The fact that Beyoncé hasn’t bothered to pick up the phone since her attack has been the final straw for their relationship,’ said one source. ‘Since the robbery, Kim has been inundated with well wishes, from close friends to acquaintances.
‘What she went through is absolutely horrific and she’s been overwhelmed by the support being offered. It’s only made Beyoncé’s silence even more deafening.’
It comes after Kanye West launched a vitriolic rant thought to be aimed at Jay Z during a concert in Seattle last week. The rapper, who has developed a close relationship with Jay after first working with him in 2000, said, ‘Don’t call me, after the robbery, and say, “How you feelin’?” You wanna know how I’m feelin’? Come by the house!’
According to one insider, the snub has been the ‘tipping point’ for Kim after years of apparently being sidelined by Beyoncé. In 2014, the singer and her husband Jay were famously conspicuous by their absence at Kim and Kanye’s Paris wedding, choosing instead to holiday in the Hamptons with daughter Blue Ivy.
At the time, it was reported that Beyoncé felt the wedding was ‘beneath her’ and disapproved of the fanfare of Kim and Kanye’s relationship.
Kanye later said of the incident, ‘All that I wouldn’t even speak on. It doesn’t even matter to me whatsoever who would show up. Because the most important person to show up there, to me, was Kim. I had to fight for that for seven years.’
The source added, ‘Kim might be one of the most famous women in the world, but she’s actually a very straightforward person. She’s never understood the hostility she’s felt from Beyoncé.
‘As far as she’s concerned, their husbands are close so they should be friends. But Bey has rebuffed her.’
So what’s next? Grazia understands a long-awaited second joint album from Jay and Kanye has been shelved due to their increasingly strained relationship. And Kim has apparently told friends she wants ‘nothing more to do with’ the couple.
‘Kanye is equally hurt that Jay has made minimal effort, and it’s been a real blow to their friendship,’ added the source. ‘This isn’t playground politics – Kim literally thought she was going to die. A text or card would have been nice.’
