Halima Aden. Lauren Hutton. Hilary Rhoda. Our three cover stars are some of the most influential women in fashion right now. For who else has done for Muslim women what Halima has? Who else, like Lauren, has been killing it in front of the camera (and on the catwalk) for 50 years? And who, like Hilary, is proving that at 30 you can still be as in-demand as Gigi? These three women show how much fashion is changing – for the better. But there is still so much further to go.

In 2016, we were the first British fashion magazine to put Ashley Graham on the cover. Have we stuck to our guns and featured enough diverse body shapes since? No. And we hold up our hands. But this issue marks the start of that change. On page 180, we introduce the new model army, and their It shopping picks of the season – for women of all sizes. And in a deeply personal and game-changing piece on page 94, Grazia’s Laura Antonia Jordan reveals fashion’s plus-size conspiracy. As top designers Prabal Gurung and Roland Mouret confess, the fashion industry is ‘fattist’. And it’s time we put a stop to it.

We hope you enjoy every page of this issue – because while we make a serious point, don’t forget that this is the season fashion found its fun again. And we welcomed our new hero, Queen Céline (see page 110). PS We’d love to know your views on anything in the magazine. Email us at feedback@graziamagazine.co.uk
