If you want a happy life, get the hell out of Blackpool or the London Borough of Islington and move to Scotland. Researchers for BBC Radio Four’s Woman’s Hour looked at issues such as the gender pay gap and female life expectancy and found Islington and Blackpool to be the worst for women in the UK. East Dunbartonshire in Scotland was the best.
