SHÀCKET REQUIRED!

-

WORD FOR YOU to know: shacket. Not a racket caused by a cacophony of ‘shushes’, nor a miniature shack; it’s not the pet name for a passionate Chaka Khan fan, but, in fact, an item of clothing that’s firmly planted itself on our new season wish lists.

The shacket – a shirt/jacket hybrid – is set to be the hardest working piece in your wardrobe. Lightweight enough to wear under a coat without adding bulk, substantial enough to wear as a jacket in its own right, with the notched lapels, collars and cuffs usually found on a shirt, the

shacket is a wardrobe version of a BOGOF.

The shacket is an easy way to shake up your look and long, belted styles are particularly flattering. Check and tweed versions add polish to laid-back looks, while khaki and camo soften smarter vibes. A leather shacket is a more modern take on a biker; voluminous denim styles are a very S/S ’18 take on the classic jean jacket.

So, there you have it: the shacket. Not just a word to know, but something to own.
