Banish memories of stale, tasteless sandwiches forever! Virgin Trains is revolutionising food-on-the-go with its mouth-watering new menus

-

Eggs BENED, fuiclltenglish breakfast made to order by a top chef, a wide choice of delicious vegan dishes, carefully sourced ingredients from trusted, local suppliers… No, you’re not in a fine dining restaurant. These are just a few of the exciting changes Virgin Trains is making to your onboard dining experience.

Getting a morning train? Included in the price of their ticket, those in First Class can select their choice of breakfast – including delicious Althams sausages and black pudding from Morecambe – freshly prepared by the onboard chef, served at their seat. Different tastes and diets are catered for, with the 100% vegan potato hash also freshly prepared for breakfast or brunch. Vegans won’t be disappointed either, with the introduction in Standard Class of the totally tasty vegan breakfast pot – and vegan chilli pot for later. Oh, and if you prefer soya milk in your cuppa, just ask!

If you’re travelling later in the day, customers in First Class can tuck into roasted pork belly or nibble on the British cheese selection, featuring more produce from local suppliers along the West Coast route – don’t miss Mrs Kirkham’s Lancashire ‘Goosnargh’ cheese, perfect with a cuppa, courtesy of Brew Tea in Manchester.

Standard Class travellers, meanwhile, have more hot and cold choices than ever before. As well as all the usual suspects, you could treat yourself to a cheese and chutney sandwich made using Rubies in the Rubble West Coast apple chutney – made with surplus apples from the trains.

Travelling by train has never been tastier…
