One of last year’s Islanders, Lucie Donlan, tells Grazia all about her A-list night out

When my agent said that Jordan Hames, Michael Griffiths and I had been invited to the Birds Of Prey

premiere, we thought we were just going to watch the film and go home. But it turns out that Margot is a massive fan of Love Island,

and wanted us there. Apparently, she was watching us on the show last year, while she was making the film – there is even a Love Island

water bottle in one scene!

We chatted on the red carpet and Margot wanted to know everything about being on the show, but she already knows so much about us. She kept using the lingo, saying things like, ‘It is what it is.’ She told us that she and her husband, Tom, have had Love Island-themed parties, and she insisted on Facetiming him in LA, so we could speak to him. I had to ask her, ‘Who would you have coupled up with in the villa?’ She said Michael – he was absolutely loving life. He was like, ‘I’ve made it!’

After the film, I went to hang out at Michael and Jordan’s house and we ordered pizza, but then we got a video message via an Instagram DM of Margot saying, ‘Please come to the after-party!’ We got ready really quickly and joined her at The OXO Tower. Michael and Jordan got tequila shots in, and then we went back to her apartment with a few of her close friends. We chatted about surfing, because she’s Australian, and she loves longboarding. It was so relaxed: she was just chilling in her slippers! She said, ‘If you’re ever in LA, hit us up, and we’ll hang out.’ I just couldn’t believe it.
