Mood-boosting beauty

MAKE - UP HAS the ability to make us feel good and express our own unique style. From a slick of mascara to a pop of lipstick, it can instantly make us feel ‘put together’ and ready to take on the day. And right now, there’s never been a better time to harness the power of feelgood cosmetics – which is where Ciaté London’s latest collection comes in.

Brit indie brand Ciaté London is the brainchild of celebrity-nail-artist-turnedentrepreneur Charlotte Knight, and has become renowned for its innovative, fun products. Its latest line is a collaboration with iconic lifestyle brand Smileyworld, who created the world’s first Smileys in 1997 and have been championing the power of self-expression ever since.

‘I fell in love with Smiley’s quirky, colourful icons and its message of optimism, creativity and self-expression,’ says Charlotte. ‘Ciaté and Smiley are both industry disruptors, powering a playful and positive message through an expressive line that champions the importance of being emotionally intelligent.’

From playful packaging to the pigmentpacked formulas (containing mood-boosting poppy and energising cacao), it’s impossible not to feel cheerier after experimenting with the Ciaté London x Smileyworld line. Smile On Lipstick, £18, in Be Proud lend lips a shot of scarlet with a velveteen finish – and has an embossed smiley on the bullet! Or, for a ‘no make-up make-up look’, Smooth On Lip Balm, £16, in Be You tints lips with a hint of pink while it conditions and hydrates.

For instant drama, Keep An Eye On Mascara, £16, is available in Be Brave (pink), Be Bold (aqua) and Be Happy (yellow). Also for eyes, Energy Boost Eye Patches, £22, infused with cacao extract and collagen-plumping copper peptides, will banish under-eye cirlces.

And our favourite product? Well, nail art is tricky, especially for the unsteady hand, which is why we’re obsessed with Ciaté Nail Stickers. So easy to use, press on the smiley faces, apply a top coat, and voila! Salonworthy nail art without leaving the house.
