TIME FOR ROMANCE
I had to smile when I read ‘I’m 35 and single in the midst of a pandemic – and it’s actually OK’ written by Sophia Moneycoutts (21 Sept). I’m 39 and single – and I’ve found dating has taken on a whole new meaning recently. Video chats are in. Small talk is out. I don’t have to fret about who picks up the tab. And the biggest plus of all? I’ve been forced to take things slowly.
I think these rediscovered and emerging modes of dating give singles additional time to select a more appropriate partner, as well as enable romance and attachment to develop slowly. The coronavirus may have changed the dating game, but some of those changes are going to have lasting benefits.
