Make way for Generation Next In Style

-

A PANDEMIC DOESN’T

exactly seem compatible with burgeoning careers, and yet 2020 has proved to be pivotal for the new style stars currently making their mark on the fashion industry. Some are already influencing our own wardrobes and, if they’re not doing so quite yet, they soon will be. Take, for example, Daisy Edgar-jones. More popular than banana bread at the start of lockdown, Normal People has been the runaway TV success of the year – and it’s made Daisy a sensation in her own right. While her red carpet wardrobe was already packed with gowns from the likes of Mother of Pearl and Rochas, it’s her lockdown looks that have really come into their own, particularly her mastery of Zoom dressing.

Then there’s the likes of Emma Corrin and Nathalie Emmanuel, involved in major TV movements of their own – Emma is about to be seen as a young Diana in The Crown, while Nathalie played Missandei in Game Of Thrones. Both were recently in Venice to celebrate Miu Miu’s Women’s Tales at the 2020 Biennale and were impeccably dressed – as you might expect. And as for the next supermodel? Well, let’s just say it seems unlikely that any daughter of Kate Moss would be destined for anything else.

EMMA CORRIN

Who The Laid-back Superstar

Best known for What she’s about to do, which is play Princess Diana in The Crown. Out in November, Emma has spent the past couple of months posing for magazine covers and no doubt preparing for worldwide fame, which is sure to come thanks to her mix of talent, self-deprecating humour and general levels of chill.

Style hits With a minimal approach to make-up and her cropped, unfussy hair, Emma can make everything from a Miu Miu sailor’s blouse to a Simone Rocha ballgown look effortless. Aided by Harry Lambert (stylist to another Harry – Styles, that is) Emma has hit the red carpet in Valentino minidresses, velvet coats and a full three-piece suit from Celine.

NATHALIE EMMANUEL

Who The Blockbuster Breakout

Best known for Playing Missandei in Game Of Thrones alongside Emilia Clarke’s Daenerys. Not only did she steal many scenes, the role has also led to a number of new projects, setting Nathalie up for a seriously impressive Hollywood career. This includes a starring role in Fast & Furious with Charlize Theron and Helen Mirren, the release of which has now been pushed back to 2021.

Style hits Nathalie manages to bring her own brand of high-octane glamour to everything she wears, whether that’s a vintage-inspired tee tucked into a metallic midiskirt or a silky slipdress from one of her favourite brands, Galvan London.

LILA GRACE MOSS

Who The Supermodel Heir

Best known for Being the only child of the world’s most famous supermodel, Kate Moss. But Lila is carving out a stellar career for herself, having appeared on every notable FROW with her mum and already starred in campaigns for Marc Jacobs and Miu Miu – and she’s still only 17.

Style hits Tie-dye jeans, crop tops, biker boots and her mum’s old T-shirts all feature heavily in Lila’s wardrobe. A recent outing saw her channel the famous sheer dress Kate wore in the ’90s. Lila wore a sheer black slip only, unlike her model mum, she chose to wear a bandeau underneath. Watch this space.
