ST FAGANS’ MUST-SEES

-

Kennixton Farmhouse

The bright red walls of this 17thcentury farmhouse inspired the duchesse satin trouser suit worn by Akuol Deng in the Mcqueen show. The walls were painted red for protection against evil spirits.

Woollen Mill

Farmers in the 18th century would take their wool to this mill. You can still see the looms in action, producing the shawls and blankets that inspired much of the Mcqueen collection.

Gwalia Tea Room

A quaint 1930s café next to a run of retro-looking shops and overlooking a village green serving afternoon tea on vintage crockery. At the time of going to press, entry to St Fagans is by advance booking only and the indoor exhibits are currently closed. To book, visit museum.wales/stfagans
