Rihanna and boyfriend A$AP Rocky’s baby will mark the next phase for the power couple, who have been together since their friendship turned into a romantic relationship after Rihanna split from her billionaire ex, Hassan Jameel, in 2020.
And the birth is not far off. At a recent event for her cosmetics brand, Fenty Beauty, Rihanna revealed she was in her third trimester – meaning her due date could be as early as mid-may. And she was recently spotted buying baby clothes at Target, sparking speculation that she is expecting a girl, as onlookers watched her pick up an orange $18 dress. Rihanna also told American Elle she will be a ‘psycho’ about defending her baby, and the best advice she’s been given is to pack in the sleep now, before her little one arrives.
According to one Hollywood insider, it’s believed Rihanna will give birth at Cedars-sinai Hospital in LA (on the same maternity ward where Victoria
Beckham and Gwyneth Paltrow welcomed their children).
After the baby arrives, the new family will be based in LA. Rihanna and Rocky have a lavish mansion in Beverly Hills – and it’s expected that Ri’s mum, 52-year-old Monica Braithwaite, will be heavily involved in the early days.
‘Everyone in her family just adores Rocky and they’re beyond thrilled she’s found herself a life partner who treats her with respect and appreciates her and everything she finds valuable and sacred,’ another source tells Grazia. ‘This is the start of the rest of her life and she cannot wait to be a mother, plus at some point in the not-too-distant future, she and Rocky will marry for sure. But there’s no rush or pressure on that.’
She might be excited to embrace motherhood, but the multi-hyphenate entrepreneur – with an empire rumoured to be worth $1.7bn – isn’t planning too long a break from her global empire: it’s thought she will only take a couple of months of leave. So who knows, maybe a Fenty baby range will be Rihanna’s next move?
