It’s time to start compiling that festive movie watch list – and this Prime Video romcom is a real gift
CRACK OUT THE CHRISTMAS PJS and mulled wine, festive films are officially back! Our pick? Prime Video’s new must-watch, Your Christmas Or Mine? The very British romcom tells the story of two young lovers forced apart when a surprise turn of events sees them spending (read: surviving) the holiday with each other’s families... and no, it’s not a horror film!
The endearing movie has all the charm of a classic Christmas hit, helped by romantic leads Asa Butterfield and Cora Kirk, whose on-screen chemistry is electric. It’s Asa’s first foray into romantic comedy movies and, yes, he does deliver – could he be the next Hugh Grant? Just maybe. Other talent includes British TV favourites Daniel Mays and Angela Griffin, plus our favourite heart-throb, Lucien Laviscount.
It’s about time a new Christmas film came along to top our festive viewing list, with Your Christmas Or Mine? set to become a new holiday tradition. Who doesn’t love a Christmas-gone-wrong storyline, testing the bonds of new love and unwrapping scandalous secrets?
So much noughties nostalgia has returned to our lives this year – from miniskirts to Uggs to paper thin eyebrows – but you know what we’ve really been missing? The romcoms. The glory days of British darlings stealing our hearts as they haphazardly seek out everlasting love, it was a film era like no other. Now, we can finally say the rule of romcom has returned (just like our teenage ballet pumps) in all its hilarious, lovable splendour. If there was ever a winter we needed to hunker down, cosy up and get the holiday festivities cracking, it’s now.
