FAR FROM THE French capital – in Miami, to be exact – BOSS brought star power to its after-dusk extravaganza, tapping not only a fashion icon but a pop culture phenomenon to open its see-now-buy-now show: Pamela Anderson. Wearing a fluid take on the brand’s heritage tailoring, which rippled beautifully in the breeze, it was pared-back, polished and definitive proof that a woman’s wardrobe can contain multitudes (fluffy hats, sequinned capes and modern power suiting).
Also included in the line-up was Law Roach, the fashion force and ‘image architect’ behind Zendaya, Hunter Schafer and Kerry Washington, who made his runway debut less than 48 hours after announcing his retirement on Instagram. In Law’s second mic-drop moment of the week, he appeared calm and collected, with one hand tucked in the pocket of his impeccably cut trousers, as he strode down the fountain-lined catwalk. ‘Like a true BOSS,’ posted the brand, adding, ‘with poise, strength, and cool composure.’ (At the same time, on Twitter, Law rebuffed rumours that he was ‘breaking up’ with Zendaya, the woman he’s helped turn into a fashion legend, who became the youngestever winner of the CFDA’S Fashion Icon Award. ‘She’s my little sister and it’s real love not the fake industry love.’)
And finally, who should close but Naomi Campbell, a recent BOSS campaign star, who wore a timeless twist on two wardrobe classics – the tuxedo and the LBD – and was escorted for the finale by DJ Khaled.
