Living wage introduced

INVERCLYDE Council will be implementing the new living wage ahead of schedule after councillors approved the move.

Members of the policy and resources committee endorsed plans to offer the new living wage of £10.90 from November 10.

As an accredited living wage employer, the council was not required to implement the new rate until May next year, however officers recommended the new wage be offered immediately in light of the ongoing cost of living crisis.
