UNBEATEN RUN GOES ON FOR GREENOCK TEAM
GREENOCK MORTON WOMEN...2 STRATHCLYDE UNI WOMEN 2s..2
GREENOCK Morton Women managed to hold onto their undefeated league run with a draw this weekend at home.
It was a fast-paced game from the start, with Strathclyde taking the lead with a goal in the first quarter.
Undeterred by this, the team continued to play great hockey, with the midfield linking in well with the forwards to create plenty of chances.
Eve Connor took full advantage of one of these chances and scored to make it 1-1 going into half-time.
After the break the hosts rallied together and with multiple attempts at goal Eve Connor managed to get one past Strathclyde’s skilled goalie.
This meant Greenock were 2-1 up going into last quarter, but despite the team’s best efforts Strathclyde managed to score an equaliser.
Thank-you to Strathclyde for making their way down to Greenock and to both umpires, especially to Jann who’s been there for the team every week this season.
Well done to players of the match Raichael Foley (voted for by opposition) and Eve Connor and Lynne Cowan (voted by Greenock).
The team have their first away game this season at the weekend when they head off to face Clydesdale Western 6s.
