‘I WANT MOMENTUM AFTER OUR CUP EXITS’

-

PORT Glasgow boss Stevie Wilson has called for consistency from his side as they aim to get back on track against Bellshill.

Two wins and a draw away from home were followed up by defeats against league leaders Ardrossan, Irvine Vics and Yoker Athletic.

With the Parklea side now knocked out of the three cup competitions following Saturday’s West of Scotland Cup defeat against Yoker, Wilson has urged his side to recapture their winning form in the Third Division.

He said: “We are disappointed to be out of all three cup competitions now, although the league campaign was always the most important issue this season and we have dropped down the division a little bit in recent weeks.

“That’s why the consistency in obtaining points has to kick in and we need a good run before the end of the year.”

Wilson has been boosted by the return of Keir Milliken from injury and he is delighted with his attacking options.

He added: “Bellshill will be a tough afternoon and we are hoping the park stands up to the weather as we have almost a full squad available.

“We are firing up top with Keir’s return to action for 25 minutes last weekend and we started with Macaulay McArthur, Jamie McKenna and Argyll McCoist up front and they are looking to maintain their places.

“We battled well against Yoker but we know we can’t skip the hard work needed to win games.

“We switched off twice last weekend and Yoker punished us.

“We have plenty of quality in the squad and not only is everyone fighting for their place in the team but even on the bench.

“We have good depth but we are always looking at improving the squad too.”

Kick-off tomorrow at Rockburn Park is 1.30pm.
