Boy hurt in hit and run

POLICE are today hunting a hit-and-run driver after a 15-year-old boy was left injured after an incident near Whinhill Station.

The teenager was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow as a result of the collision at Riverside Road.

He was hit by the car at around 7.15pm on Wednesday.

A Police Scotland spokespers­on said: “Just before 7.15pm, officers were called to a report of a collision involving a vehicle and a 15-year-old boy on Riverside Road in Greenock.

“The 15-year-old was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

“The vehicle left the scene and enquiries are ongoing.”

There was no update as to the teenager’s injuries or condition.
