In 2007, Kevin Lima’s smart and sassy tale of a storybook princess at large in New York City cleverly upheld and subverted fairytale conventions to glorious and hysterical effect.

Enchanted affectionately poked fun at Disney’s catalogue of fables and morality tales, gifting Amy Adams the plum role of childishly innocent dreamer Giselle who falls in love with a divorce lawyer (Patrick Dempsey) and gambols through life with carefree grace.

The original cast returns for a sequel directed by Adam Shankman featuring original songs composed by Alan Menken with lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, who were Oscar-nominated for their work on the first film.

Giselle (Adams) and her beau Robert (Dempsey) have been married for more than a decade, but the plucky heroine has yet to find her happily ever after in the city.

The growing family relocates to the closeknit community of Monroeville where queen bee Malvina Monroe (Maya Rudolph) rules the roost with an icy glare.

In desperation, Giselle calls upon the magic of her home kingdom Andalasia but good intentions transform Monroeville into a real-life fairytale full of treachery and malice.
