SALE AWAY Care home helpers raise £700

-

A GREENOCK care home has thanked the community for its ‘generous’ donations that saw £700 raised for residents.

Members of the Glenfield Care Home Ladies Committee organised a table top sale that took place at Old Gourock & Ashton Church hall.

Locals were able to sell their goods by hiring a table for the day.

Mary McNeil, a member of the committee, thanked all those that attended and contributed. She said: “Many generous cash donations to Glenfield were given, and we also had money from the door, table top sales, and teas and coffees.

“The church kindly charged nothing for the use of the premises, which is hugely appreciated.”

Money will go towards supporting the home’s residents, and future events on the horizon. Mary added: “Absolutely every penny raised will be used to enhance the life of those in our care at Glenfield.

“Our next effort will be a quiz night in the clubhouse at Greenock Wanderers, on December 2.”

Anyone looking to find out more about the quiz night or purchase a ticket for the event, can contact Mary by emailing marymcneil@aol. com
