Panto stars in lights switch-on

STARS of this year’s Beacon panto will be using their sparkle to kick off Greenock’s festive season in style tomorrow.

Still Game favourites Jane McCarry and Mark Cox and panto stalwart Lee Samuel are switching on the town’s Christmas lights in Cathcart Square on Thursday evening.

Jane said: “It’s time to light the lights and sprinkle some magic in the very best place in Scotland.”

The switch-on has been organised by Inverclyde Council and the festivities will run from 5-7pm in the Oak Mall and out in Cathcart Square. Brass Sounds Inverclyde will be performing and there will be a visit from Santa and his reindeer.
