Frozen in time

ON the left of this chilly Gourock pierhead scene is part of the frontage of the Kursaal, which started as a roller-skating rink but was also the venue for other forms of entertainment.

Evidence of trams running through the snow indicates the image pre-dates the closure of the service on July 15, 1929.

The Bay Hotel and Post Office were later built on the Kursaal site.
