Cafe reveals new designs
DESIGNS have been unveiled for the Cafe Continental’s bid to create an outdoor dining area on a gap site beside the premises.
Inverclyde Council owns the ground and is considering granting a lease for part of the gap site, on Kempock Street, between the Café and Sainsbury’s.
It has opened a public consultation, saying it intends to give the firm Rowanplan Properties the tenancy for between 20-25 years.
There would be a new building with a platform for an external dining and drinks area at street level, with storage beneath.
The land is part of the council’s common good estate, which means it must carry out the public consultation.
