Specsavers team step up for charity

KIND staff at a Greenock opticians raised almost £700 for charity.

A total of 15 members of the team from Specsavers in the Oak Mall challenged themselves to each walk two miles every day of October, to generate funds for Breast Cancer Now.

The super-steppers covered 970 miles in total - the equivalent of walking from Greenock to Germany - and raised £679 for the cause.

Store director Claire Kincaid says she’s very proud of the team.

She added: “Our original target was £300 so to get more than double this has been a wonderful achievemen­t.

“We’d like to extend our thanks to all of our customers who kindly helped us to reach this amount.

“We hope this money can make a vital difference to people living with cancer.”
