LOCALS GET CHANCE TO WIN TREATMENTS IN TREASURE HUNT

EAGLE-EYED locals are being given the chance to win free beauty treatments as part of a Greenock salon’s fourth birthday celebrations.

Infinity Beauty on West Blackhall Street have hidden vouchers for free sessions around their neighbouring shops and premises on Jamaica Street as part of the anniversary treasure hunt.

Co-owners Liz Jardine, Ashleigh Beaton and Charlene Beckley hope the special celebration will bring more footfall to the town centre.

The trio are also raising money for Ardgowan Hospice by selling handmade bracelets and scratchcards.

Best pals Liz and Charlene say they’ve come a long way since they opened the salon with Liz’s daughter Ashleigh and are glad to have put the pandemic behind them.

Liz told the Tele: “We all came from different salons and were at the West College together.

“We had thought of opening somewhere and eventually we bit the bullet and decided to just go for it.

“The last few years have been really hard because of Covid.

“Businesses were folding all around us, even some of our neighbours.

“We didn’t know whether we were going to re-open or not, so we just felt that this year we should do something special.

“It’s sheer willpower and determination that’s got us here.

“We’re trying to make things more positive, everything’s been so dull and people have been so negative lately, we just thought it would be good to make this a celebration.”

The group say running the salon was tough going initially, but they soon built up a strong base of loyal customers who helped support them through the difficult pandemic period.

Ashleigh said: “The pandemic totally limited what we could do.

“Not being able to do facials for a long time was a big problem for us.

“Having three of us in here has helped.

“We work well together and all have the same work ethic which helps a lot.

“When we first started we were having to put offers out to get people in but we’re now at the point where we don’t have to do that.

“We really want to pay it all back, we wouldn’t be here without our clients spending their money.”

The treasure hunt includes a variety of top prizes, including facials, polishes and gel massages, which the trio hope will encourage locals to take part.

Charlene added: “Hopefully it’ll make people want to pop in to other businesses.

“People could find a makeover while they’re out shopping.

“Our clients are the ones that have got us here, they came back the minute we opened back up and stuck by us.

“We’re grateful to everyone that’s helped us out.”
