Break-in a ‘false alarm’

A REPORT of a break-in at an address in Mearns Street in Greenock over the weekend proved to be a false alarm, police have said.

Officers attended at an address in the lower end of the street on Saturday morning, just off Regent Street, following the call.

Two squad cars were sent and spotted parked outside a block of flats for a time, while officers were seen in discussion at the scene.

Police Scotland say that the officers determined that no further action was required.
