Ton are winners on and off the pitch

-

MORTON are enjoying some great times both on and off the park right now.

Dougie Imrie’s men are charging towards the top of the table after an eight game league unbeaten run, but perhaps what they are doing in the community is an even bigger success story than their on-field heroics.

The club have teamed up with charity Children in Poverty Inverclyde to offer free tickets to young supporters whose families would otherwise struggle to pay them through the gate.

It is a fantastic gesture by the club at a time when every penny through the turnstiles counts. Not only does it build goodwill, but it also lays the foundations to capture the next generation of loyal fans who will fill the Cowshed every second week for years to come.

Cappielow sits right in the heart of a council ward classed as one of the poorest in the country and it is great to see the community-owned club doing its bit to recognise that.

This new venture is a real team effort.
