Otters’ medal success in trial
THREE young members of Port Glasgow Otters swim team participated in the West of Scotland Swimming Time Trials.
Zak Gallacher and siblings Paige and Kian McLean all qualified to compete in the SDS National Junior Swimming Championships for Swimmers with a Learning Disability which was held at Tollcross International Aquatics Centre in Glasgow.
This was Paige and Kian’s first time competing in this competition and after a day of really tough races, the swimmers returned with a total of three medals.
Paige won a silver medal in the 50m breaststroke and a bronze medal in the 100m freestyle.
Kian had two great swims and just missed out on a medal for the 25m freestyle.
Zak won a bronze medal in the 25m backstroke.
The club are so proud of the young swimmers’ achievements.
