Gardeners’ wishlist

-

LAST week I met again with the jolly big man himself and over a few glasses of mulled wine he gave me great ideas to pass to our readers about ideas for presents for local gardeners.

Stroking his long white beard pensively, he suggested that new gardening tools might be very useful.

A new fork or spade or maybe a new rake could be a useful Christmas present.

If you are feeling a bit affluent you might even consider a new lawnmower and the everhelpful staff at Cardwell Garden Centre will be only too pleased to help you.

Another very useful gift is a watering can, and there are various types and sizes available.

Hand tools are always a useful gift because not matter how many you may have I bet you can never put your hand on one when you need it.

The same goes for secateurs, it can be useful to have at least two sets – one for the greenhouse and one for outdoors.

Long-handled loppers are also very useful for use on large or tough branches which are too big for using the secateurs on.

Don’t worry about the size of these — Santa will still manage to get them down the chimney!
