‘A lack of integrity’
IN a recent speech Rishi Sunak said that he would lead a government of ‘integrity and responsibility’ — and then he immediately appoints to his cabinet two failed MPs, Suella Braverman, and Gavin Williamson, who had been sacked for breaking the ‘sacred’ parliamentary code (if you have to lie make it at least convincing). This whole sorry mess reminds me of a quote from a backbencher about Boris Johnson. “He was a man who wouldn’t tell the truth when a lie would do”. Shades of Sunak?
