TARTAN ARMY Pupils celebrate St Andrew’s Day in style

-

PUPILS at a Greenock primary school celebrated St Andrew’s Day in style at a special Scottish-themed assembly.

Boys and girls at Aileymill enjoyed a dazzling display of Scottish country dancing and songs performed by youngsters in P5/4 and P5.

There was a special Scottish edition of TV quiz show The Chase and a beautiful rendition of Dougie MacLean’s classic, Caledonia.

Teacher Claire Spence said it was a fantastic occasion.

She added: “All of the children did really well and worked so hard to prepare for it. The full school and nursery came along to enjoy the show.

“It was great for the pupils to celebrate their country with fun activities.”
