Plan for old church site

A CONVENIENCE shop and a hot food takeaway could be built on a former church site in Greenock’s west station area if planners give new proposals the go-ahead.

Plans to build the new premises at the site of the now demolished EU Congregational Church on Nelson Street are being considered by Inverclyde Council officials.

The new building would comprise two units - one with a trading space and staff room, and the other with a kitchen/preparation space and servery.

There would also be a car park and toilets.
