Crunch meeting looms on bus service’s future

-

CAMPAIGNERS fighting to get a disabled bus service fully back on the road are set for crucial talks with public transport bosses.

Concerned Greenock passenger Alice McCaughey hit out recently in the at the problems with the

MyBus service.

She warned that the elderly and disabled were being left trapped in their homes because of restrictions still in place since the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Greeenock pensioner was backed by local councillor John Crowther, who demanded action to reinstate group bookings and other services.

Bosses at SPT say that passenger demand has not returned since the pandemic.

But they promised to meet with passengers to discuss the problems caused by the reduced service. Now a meeting has been arranged with the campaigners, including Cllr Crowther and Alice. They will sit down with bosses from SPT at Greenock Municipal Buildings on Tuesday.
