Final three had the best look

ARRIVALS - Thursday December 1

-

DURING the 1920s, the Cunard Line ordered six ‘A’ class passenger liners from shipyards around Britain.

The first three differed in appearance to the others and it was generally thought that the final three had the better appearance.

All were placed on the trans-Atlantic services mainly operating to Canadian ports from Liverpool or London.

One of the first batches was the 13,912 grt Ausonia, completed in 1922 by Armstrong, Whitworth & Co at Newcastle.
