Community conference ‘huge success’
A COMMUNITY conference hosted by Inverclyde’s third sector support organisation was a big success.
CVS Inverclyde held a day-long event full of presentations from high-profile figures and workshops on how the cost of living crisis will affect people across the area.
Tom Arthur MSP, pictured, spoke about community wealth and was asked about protecting funding for the third sector, saying the Scottish Government would do everything it could to ‘protect services that help the most vulnerable’. Councillor Elizabeth Robertson spoke about her roots in Inverclyde and promoting the area and Kirsten Hogg of the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations talked about how it supports local groups.
CVS Inverclyde boss Charlene Elliott said: “The variety and calibre of speakers who attended demonstrates CVS Inverclyde’s leadership in Scotland’s third sector.
“We’re proud we spotlighted the impact the cost of living crisis is having on third sector organisations facing immense pressures.”
