Tinged with sadness

THE return of cherished Greenock business Cradle Care to it’s ‘home’ on West Blackhall Street is both a happy and poignant moment for proprietor Chris Jewell and his family. Memories of Chris’s beloved wife Sandra will abound as the shop at 93 West Blackhall Street reopens after a flood caused by a burst pipe forced a hurried relocation earlier this year. Sandra — who made the business her labour of love — passed away recently following a brave battle against cancer. But she will forever remain in the hearts and minds of everyone associated with Cradle Care, including the scores of customers who became close to her over the years. As her friend and former co-worker Janine Demelas put it: “We’ll never get another Sandra.” We wish Chris and all at the shop well for the future.
