Thanks for the support
May I thank everyone involved in the organisation and running of the RNLI’s fish supper?
We were unashamedly fishing for funds for the Lifeboats, to help equip and maintain our fleet and train and support our amazing volunteer crews. We raised an amazing £755.75. As part of the evening the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution) recognised the contribution of two organisations and three individuals for their contribution over the years. Receiving a certificate and plaque on behalf of Systematic Print management were Nick Robey (former managing director), Chris Robey (managing director) and Sharon Robey (director).
Also being recognised were the RAOB (Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes) Wolds Province with the awards being accepted by Fred Standland, Ernie Thompson, Nev Wright and Victor Brocklesby. Individual certificates of thanks were awarded to Victor Brocklesby and Brenda Hartill, together with 18-year-old Chris Myburgh.
Chris started to help the Caistor RNLI Branch at the age of 11 and has contributed immensely to its work of fundraising over the years. His commitment is demonstrated by being present at this event, despite having moved to Crawley in the summer to continue his apprenticeship.
Others to whom huge thanks are due are: Binbrook Village Hall and Bar Committee, especially Erni and Karen Thompson and Jibby and Lynn Frame, Stuart Davis (quiz master), Ellie Robey (violinist), and Caistorways – a sea shanty choir who ensured there was not a dry eye in the house when they sang Don’t Take The Heroes about the Penlee Lifeboat disaster in 1981.
Most of all, our thanks to everyone who attended.
