Haslam’s stay top as Edmonds boys thrash Clee

HASLAM’S Plumbing and Heating made the trip to Healing Men’s in Section B and came away with a 6-2 win as Mike Reed, Daniel Harrison and Chris Scott all won 2-0 in reply to a 2-0 from Geoff Pearce. Ray Edmonds B went one better when, after Shane Newbold shared the first two frames with Clee Bowls C’s Ken Payne, Phil Marshall, Tony Pearce and Richard Grant won all the rest in a 7-1 result. Cue World Comets matched this score after Matt Paterson, Michael Dent and Blake Munton all won two and Terry Haigh shared with Bob Barnes of their opponents, Cleethorpe­s Collectabl­es. when third in the table Crommy Cats entertaine­d second placed Hainton Hornets. In a very close game, the outcome was decided by a 2-0 from the Cats’ Shaun Mawer. The rest of the frames finished even as Brad Mowforth, Warren Fenwick and Kris Hall shared with the Hornets’ Richard Parkin, Lee Chisnall and Kyle Mawer. Elsewhere, 2-0 wins from Shane Smith and Mark Piercy and a single from Andy Warner against Geoff Dowling gave West End D a 5-3 victory at Cabbies.

Winning two for the Taxi-men was Trev Thompson. Brian Broomhead and Phil Revell both won two and Mick Bird shared with Pete Shutt as Cromwell B won 5-3 at Ray’s Rockaz. David Taylor won the two for Ray’s.

John Ford won 2-0 and Nigel Mumby, Steve Moody and George Clark shared with Richard Smith, Chris Foxcroft and Leigh Benwell as Westlands A won 5-3 at Cue World Bangers.

A 2-0 from Jeff Leak and a single from Andy Kenningale against Barry Haigh put Standard B 3-1 up against Nunsthorpe Tavern.

That was it for Standard though, as Davie Cooper and Trev Blyth won two each for the Tavern in a 5-3 victory.
