Strictly no frights for Kevin Clifton

Grimsby Telegraph - - News -

CYBERMAN Kevin Clifton and his partner Stacey Dooley achieved their best Strictly Come Dancing score yet with their Doctor Who inspired tango that blew the judges away. Grimsby’s own Kevin and his partner put on a special tribute to the first female Doctor Who with their tango set to the hit BBC show’s theme tune. All of the judges were highly impressed with their performance, eventually giving them their best score of the series with 35 points.

Bruno Tonioli said that they were just like the Doctor himself “regenerating after every week to come back stronger” and that he loved their very impressive tango.

Craig Revel Horwood also praised them saying that they put on a “very strong performance” and felt that Kevin as a Cyberman was a great look for him. Darcey Bussell felt the pair were like the Doctor “in control” and loved the unique role change between the pair at the end of the dance when Stacey took the dominant position.

Shirley Ballas gave them a standing ovation upon the completion of their dance, calling certain movements “perfect” and feeling that the whole thing was just “fantastic”.

Kevin and Stacey were blown away by their score and continued their streak of improving every week in the competition.

Seann Walsh was the fifth contestant to be voted off the show after he faced England cricketer Graeme Swann in the dreaded dance-off.

After both couples had danced a second time the judges delivered their verdicts, with Craig, Bruno and Darcey choosing to save Graeme and his partner Oti, while Shirley abstained from voting, but would have picked Graeme.
