A TOTAL of 36 people in northern Lincolnshire tested positive for Covid-19 on Thursday.

In North East Lincolnshire, another 23 people received a positive result, a slight drop on Wednesday’s figures.

It puts the region’s rate per 100,000 resident population at 101.5, up three per cent on the previous week.

This compares to North Lincolnshire where just 13 people tested positive, according to figures published on February 18. This puts the region’s rolling rate at 94, resulting in a 14.1 per cent drop on the past seven days. The national average stands at 131.8 after another 12.057 people tested positive for the virus.

It puts the country’s estimated R-rate at 0.7 to 0.9 with a daily infection growth rate range of -5 per cent to -2 per cent, as of February 12.

Almost 16.5 million people in the UK have received their first dose of a coronavirus vaccine, while about 570,000 others have had their second.

Sadly, another person died with coronavirus in a hospital in northern Lincolnshire. The latest death was announced by NHS England on Thursday and happened on Tuesday, February 16.

It brings the total number of Covid-19 deaths at the Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust to 413, with 16 so far this month.

The Trust runs hospitals in Grimsby and Scunthorpe – but the NHS does not state which hospital deaths have been recorded. Each day’s new figure includes deaths reported by Trusts between 4pm two days prior and 4pm the previous day. Lags in reporting by Trusts often mean some can be a few days behind.

As of yesterday, there were 59 patients between the local hospitals – 33 at Grimsby and 26 at Scunthorpe. Of these, four are in ICU – two at Grimsby and two at Scunthorpe.

Each day Public Health England updates its interactive map, above. As of February 13, North East Lincolnshire moved back into the blue category, while North Lincolnshire remained in green.
