A GRIMSBY cat has miraculously survived after brutally being stabbed twice with a blade.

The RSPCA is currently investigating after the cat, called Lynx, was rushed into Blue Cross Veterinary Hospital in Grimsby with two serious stab wounds to his mid-section on March 1. Despite the horrific injuries, Lynx had managed to crawl back to his home after the attack.

He was found by his owner who rushed him to the vets for emergency treatment.

Vets said that the two stab wounds were around 3cm deep and had been caused by some sort of blade, with one puncturing his liver and another going straight through the cat’s spleen. After his life-saving surgery, Lynx has now recovered and is doing really well, but the RSPCA are now investigating to find who is responsible for the attack.

RSPCA inspector Thomas Hutton said: “Thankfully, Lynx was lucky to survive and has now recovered from his surgery and is doing really well. It’s a miracle.

“Vets said the two wounds were around 3cm deep and had been caused by some sort of blade. One had punctured his liver and the other had gone straight through his spleen.”

The RSPCA is asking anyone with information to get in touch with them. Thomas added: “It’s incredibly concerning to think someone may have inflicted these wounds on Lynx deliberately and I’d like to hear from anyone with any information that could help our investigations.

“If you have any information about what happened to Lynx or who may be responsible for this awful attack please call our appeal line on 0300 123 8018.” To help the RSPCA continue rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming animals as well as investigating animal cruelty, please visit their website or call their donation line on 0300 123 8181.
