Drop in Covid cases as no new deaths reported in northern Lincolnshi­re for third day

A TOTAL of 25 people in northern Lincolnshi­re have tested positive for Covid-19 in the past 24 hours.

In North East Lincolnshi­re, 10 people tested positive on Tuesday, placing its average rolling rate at 77.7.

The latest figures show 103 people in North East Lincolnshi­re have tested positive for coronaviru­s in the past week, a 23.7 per cent decrease on the previous week.

In in North Lincolnshi­re, 15 people gave a positive test result in the past 24 hours, putting its rolling rate to 96.9

135 people have tested positive for coronaviru­s in North Lincolnshi­re in the past week, a 43 per cent decrease in the past seven days.

There have been no new coronaviru­srelated deaths at hospitals under the Northern Lincolnshi­re and Goole NHS Foundation Trust reported for the third day in a row.

The total number of people who have sadly died with Covid-19 under the Trust remains at 450 since the pandemic began.

As of Tuesday, there were 20 patients between the local hospitals – seven at Grimsby and 12 at Scunthorpe and one at

Goole. Of these, one patient is in ICU at Grimsby.

Across the UK, 2,379 more people have received a positive test result, placing the overall rolling rate at 41.4.

A further 26 people have sadly died in the UK with coronaviru­s, as of April 6.

It is worth noting that daily figures may be skewed this week due to the Bank Holiday weekend.

In positive news, about 31,600,000 people in the UK have received their first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine while roughly 5,500,000 have had their second.

It comes as Boris Johnson defends the AstraZenec­a Covid jab after visiting the factory making them in Macclesfie­ld, reports The Mirror.

Regulators in the UK and Europe are examining potential links between the Oxford/AstraZenec­a jab and rare blood clots. The Prime Minister said: “On the Oxford/ AstraZenec­a vaccine, the best thing people should do is look at what the MHRA say, our independen­t regulator - that’s why we have them, that’s why they are independen­t. “Their advice to people is to keep going out there, get your jab, get your second jab.”
